Eligibility:

Open to all members of Provincial Judo Associations, Judo Canada and IJF Associations
All competitors must be prepared to present their judo documentation.
Minimum rank – yellow belt

U16: Juvenile Men / Juvenile Women: born 2000 – 2001 (3 min. match duration)
NOVICE ONLY – (YELLOW-GREEN)
U14: Boys / Girls: born 2002 – 2003 (2 min. match duration)
U12: Boys / Girls: born 2004 – 2005 (2 min. randori format)
U10: Mixed Gender: born 2006 – 2007 (2 min. randori format)

THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES AS DEEMED NECESSARY
ACCORDING TO JUDO CANADA AND JUDO ALBERTA SANCTION POLICIES.

– Females must wear a plain white t-shirt under their judogi
– 1st name called must wear white Judogi. Blue judogis are optional
– Judo Canada rules:
U16 – No kansetsu-waza (No shime-waza for yellow-orange belt)
U14 to U10 – No kansetsu waza, no shime waza, no sankaku gatame or sankaku rollover
U14 (As per Judo Canada Sanction policy(page 28). Violations will be penalized by shido

U10/U12 (the following actions and techniques are NOT allowed)
– head locking
– all drop down techniques, which start on one or both knees
– Tani otoshi, makikomi waza or sutemi-waza
U10 to U12 must use standard front grip during kumi kata.

U10 and U12 groupings will be determined after 9 AM. The goal is to have groups of 4 or 5.
Round robin format. Rule modifications as per Judo Canada.
2 minutes straight time as per current, recent standards.
3 ippon limit to be applied, at the discretion of the referees.
Contests will NOT be scored at mat side.
All participants will receive participation awards.
