Judo Alberta Inter-provincial Training Camp – Canmore

canmorecamp\

Hello everyone,

2017 Inter-provincial Camp was another great success bringing together the best young athletes in Western Canada for three hard days of training in beautiful Canmore! (over 180 athletes – check out the photos on the Judo Alberta Facebook page) The camp is not only a success because of the judo but because of the love that the city of Canmore shows the camp!
The community steps up every year to show their support by donating larger amounts of products and gear to be given to the camp for prizes.
The athletes take full advantage of the fruits, the Gatorade station, the Big Chief Beef Jerky and the Muscle Milk! These little touches make the difference; the coaches receiving gifts from the organizing committee, the coaches having their Saturday meals covered by Judo Alberta and the judogis’ given to athletes by Matsuru are examples of what makes this camp different then any other camp in Canada.

Judo Alberta would like to thank Denise, Terry, Scott and Patti for all of the hard work they put into the camp. Without their dedication to making this camp great the Canmore Inter-Provincial Camp would just be another camp with mats laid down in a gym. They are great example of the people involved with Judo Alberta and are proud members of their community of Canmore.

Judo Alberta would like to thank all the coaches who made the trip to Canmore; competitive judo coaching is not easy; it is time consuming and sometimes energy draining. The dedication of the coaches in Alberta and Canada does not go unnoticed and Judo Alberta/Judo Canada understand that you are backbone of judo in this country. A special thanks to Garry Yamashita who always ensures that the mats get there and is always one of the first to arrive and last to leave!

Judo Alberta would like to thank Judo Canada who were are partners in this camp providing the services on Janusz Pawlowski for the camp. The brilliance of Mr. Pawlowski’s judo can be overwhelming sometimes but his skills is appreciated by coach and athletes. Everytime you are on the mats you will learn something new no matter who you are or what level you are; he is a legend of JUDO and we are happy that he is part of the Judo Canada coaching staff.

We hope that next years camp will be just as spectacular and we hope that we will welcome new judoka and coaches to the mats from Alberta!

Have a great day,

Ewan Beaton
Judo Alberta HP Coach
